Home / Summer Camp
Come Play With Us!
We are so fortunate to have four acres of rich land with a variety of environments for our young explorers to experience. Parents are always invited to come and share their talents, interests and use the property as their resort away from home. Discovery School and Camp provides:
Weekly Themes
Two swimming pools
Game room
Discovery School and Camp is a former arboretum and early period estate. Discovery Camp is Fun In The Sun. Each weekly theme is planned from mid-June through the end of August and caters to working families from 7 AM to 6 PM. If your train or plane is late we invite kids to dinner and keep them safe and busy until you arrive.
Our four acre campus has two swimming pools for your enjoyment. We have a large athletic field, game room, computer room, seven playgrounds of different environments, their own vegetable gardens, an exercise building with ballet bars and full mirrored walls. Kids love the stage and the friendship experience of singing morning songs and respect of polite listening to others sharing their day events and crafts.
Character building is an ongoing development which we help mold daily. The children feel pride as they show their crafts to everyone. They experience and mold friendship as they share what they did with their buddy and unit. They develop courage when they themselves enter into dramatics on the outside stage . They help plan and carry out skits, songs and stories with their group. They make friendship bracelets and learn each others uniqueness, tolerance and family values.
The entire four acre property is fenced and secure. Families are encouraged to raise their own farm animal at Discovery and where the children will learn about the habitats of our rabbits, birds, goats and llamas. The child friendly lovable yellow Labrador pet dogs become rugs, pulling toys, grooming toys, friends to talk to, faces and ears to explore and subjects to study and love. They receive a happy wagging tale and lick of appreciation for the attention and showing of love.
The children plan field trips to their liking and explore Chester County resources by using their listening skills in the woods and around water when we go fishing in March Creek and the local parks. They learn self-controlwith a Talking Wand, Feelings Books, and the attitude Tree of Growth to mention a few.
Camp school-age kids are invited in the winter to come on snow days where they put on their Thinking Hats and dicuss the summer themes, trips and activities they want to look forward to for everyone. They have so much fun reuniting with each other.
Friends together laugh, clown around, jump, pull themselves up on our climbing wall, search the bottom of the wading pool for hidden treasures, dig in dirt and sand to make forts, water ways and castles. They play in outside gardens they plant, they jump on the trampoline to build their coordination, they search under logs and stones where they find nature hiding. They are encouraged to build environments, create puppets, build blanket hideouts and block cities outside as well as inside on rainy days.
Our curriculum is guided by their needs and wants, their enthusiasm and excited communication that completely changes the plans for a day when frog is found in the pool or our pet rabbits have babies or when someone brings a fish from the fair for us to raise. We just have so much fun learning from them and documenting what we do each day in photographs parents can see on the computer when they pick up their children.
We encourage our parents to PLAY with their kids and LISTEN to them as they mold their way in the world of Discovery. Come Play With Us and Share your child’s ever developing world. Robin
